This describes a method of removing a skin bump (eg. moles) by leveling it without entering deeply into the skin to remove the roots. This is a preferred option to achieve greatest cosmetic acceptability as there is a minimal risk of scarring. However, if the skin bump itself is discolored, after shave excision it may be flat but still be discolored as the root is still there and may regrow.

The treatment area will look like a scratch mark and heal quickly.
