Fillers
Dermal fillers, specifically Hyaluronic Acid (HA) Fillers, are injected into various depths of the skin to restore volume, smooth facial wrinkles, and enhance facial features. Commonly indicated for volume loss in areas such as the temples, cheeks, jawline, under the eyes, chin, and lips.
Key Benefits Of Fillers
Restoration of facial volume
Reduction of wrinkles and fine lines
Enhancement of facial features
Minimal discomfort during the procedure
How It Works
Preparation and Injection
The skin is cleansed and prepared for the procedure. A customized treatment plan will be discussed to address specific concerns. Fillers are injected using either needles or cannulas, depending on the treatment sites.
Discomfort is minimal and can be alleviated with numbing creams or skin vibration.
Post-Treatment Care
Swelling may occur for 1-2 days post-procedure. Bruising risk can be reduced with ice packs and pressure. Vascular laser treatment is available for reducing dark bruises if necessary. Pain and tenderness at injection sites can be managed with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories (e.g., Advil or Motrin).
Lumps or bumps may be normal and can be addressed if persistent or bothersome.
Maximizing Effects
Combining fillers with neuromodulators like Botox™ can enhance longevity.
H.A. Intensifier™ serum from SkinCeuticals boosts skin’s Hyaluronic Acid levels. Avoiding sleeping on injection sites, particularly for cheek treatments, can reduce compression.
Maintenance
Hyaluronic acid fillers are gradually degraded by enzymes in the skin. Periodic maintenance every 6-12 months helps sustain improvements. Duration of effectiveness depends on treatment sites, frequency, and intensity of movement.
FAQ
How often should dermal filler treatments be repeated?
Maintenance treatments are typically recommended every 6-12 months to sustain results, depending on individual factors such as treatment sites and movement patterns.
Are there any additional steps to enhance filler effects?
Combining fillers with neuromodulators and using supportive skincare products like H.A. Intensifier™ serum can optimize results and prolong effectiveness. Following proper aftercare is also extremely beneficial to enhancing the length of benefits.
What are the common risks associated with dermal fillers?
Rare but serious risks include skin ulceration and blindness. However, these are uncommon and can be minimized with proper injection techniques.
What are the costs associated with dermal filler treatments?
Fees vary based on the treatment area and injector. Dr. Tan’s fees start at specific rates for different facial regions, while the Nurse Injector’s fee is fixed per syringe.
